According to this article, occupancy rates are down in Kauai, Maui, and Oahu, but up on the Big Island. Could this be a good time to visit Hawaii and avoid large crowds?

I wonder why the Big Island is up, are the volcanoes erupting?
Aloha Sheila and govisithawaii blog visitors,
I don’t know why occupancy at the Big Island hotels is up compared to other Hawaiian Islands but if you consider an ‘affordable’ Hawaii vacation then April and May are the months to go. Hawaiian Air and Aloha Airlines offer flight specials from the Mainland to Hawaii (not to forget Interisland flight specials at $29 one way!) , car rental companies offer special deals and last but not least, Hawaii vacation rental owners are willing to negotiate with potential guests about Last Minute or low season rates! See you in Hawaii. Aloha, Pua
