- Coastal Living has listed their top 10 pocket beaches and Kapalua Bay Beach in Maui was number one on the list. (The Kapalua area beaches are my personal favorites.) If you are wondering what a pocket beach is, Wikipedia defines it as a beach between two headlands. They are typically more sheltered with clear waters.
- Another Hawaii beach making an elite list is Oahu’s Waikiki Beach. Conde Nast lists Waikiki as one of the world’s best island beaches.
- The Star Bulletin has a great review of the brand new Roy’s at Waikiki. If you find yourself near a Roy’s Restaurant either in Hawaii or on the Mainland, I highly recommend you give it a try.
- There is definitely something special about the Coco Palms Resort on Kauai. Per the Star Bulletin, a book has been written about this once star resort. (For new readers, you may be interested in reading this past article about the Coco Palms and plans for its revival.)
- You may find yourself with some extra space at the pool in one of Hawaii’s hotels. The hotel occupancy rates fell for the 13th straight month according to KPUA news.
