Hawaii Vacation News Roundup for July 13th

  • Last week, I posted about a great Big Island condo deal with Destination Villas.  The deal just got better.  This morning I received an e-mail from them with this update
  • July weekly rate for select Waikoloa villas $699/7 nights. Plus Hawaii tax and departure cleaning fee, of course.

That works out to be about $100 per night plus taxes and fees, which is really a fantastic deal.

  • If you are going to be in the Big Island, you may find yourself bumping in to cast members of the new Indiana Jones movie.  Per the Hawaii Channel, filming began this week and will continue filming along the Hamakua Coast north of Hilo for the next three weeks.

  • Cheryl at Hawaii Vacation Gifts has listed two sweepstakes you can enter to win a free Hawaii Vacation.

  • And finally, yours truly wrote a brief guest post about the box jellyfish on Oahu’s coast over at Jaunted.  One of life’s great mysteries to me is why is the peanut butter fish never around at the same time as the jellyfish?  😉
