Here’s an excerpt that summarizes the statewide picture, ” Only 67.1 percent of Hawaii’s hotel rooms were filled in October 2008 as compared with 73.6 percent during the same period in 2007, and visitors paid an average daily rate of $177.41 this year, a price drop of 3.4 percent from the prior year.” Let me translate this into music for the Hawaii travelers’ ears, “If you vacation in Hawaii now, you’ll find great rates and less people.” Isn’t that what we all want?
