Yesterday, we drove to the Western North Carolina mountains to spend Christmas with family. The trip normally takes 3.5 hours, but yesterday it took us 2.5 hours longer because of icy roads and a wreck (not us, thankfully) that stopped traffic in both directions for over 2 hours. So, with this extra time, we put it to good use by making up new lyrics to the song The Twelve Days of Christmas, but with a silly, island inspired twist. Sing along as you read it, starting with “On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me,”
Twelve whales a leaping
Eleven hula dancers
Ten surfers surfing
Nine ukes a strumming
Eight coconut pancakes
Seven dolphins swimming
Six honu basking
Fiiiiiiiiive golden beaches
Four finger poi
Three Kauai hens
Two loco mocos
And a nene in a palm tree
I hope you’ve enjoyed our semi-humorous lyrics. Andy and I wish a Mele Kalikimaka to you and yours!

Very well done. We did one for our hockey team a few years ago, but I like you’re a lot better.
Mele Kalikimaka to you and Andy as well. Have a safe trip back home, too.
Kris – Merry Christmas to you and Cindy! I heard Chicago is getting snow. Enjoy your white Christmas!
Too cute! I love “and a nene in a palm tree” – perfect!
Love it! Good job! Glad you were able to make good use of your time. 😉
