Elvis in Hawaii

Elvis Presley and Hawaii went together like chocolate and macadamia nuts. The two definitely had a beautiful love affair with each other.  I can’t say that I blame them. Can you?

One of Elvis’ most famous concerts, Aloha from Hawaii, took place in Honolulu in 1973. Per Wikipedia, the concert was broadcast live via satellite and was the most watched broadcast by an individual entertainer in television history. KITV reported that it was the first worldwide telecast.

As this week is Elvis Week, I wanted to share this YouTube video that I found with scenes and posters from the movie Blue Hawaii while playing the famous song with the same title. (Email subscribers: please click here to watch the video.)

Do you have any memories of Elvis in Hawaii? If so, please share them in the comments.
