If you are planning to catch a luau on Oahu, you’re in for a treat. Many of the longstanding Oahu luaus offer grand productions with set stages and many entertainers.
If you’ve never been to a luau, you should expect a buffet dinner and a Polynesian music and dance show. For more insights for first-timers, see our article – What to Expect from your First Time to a Hawaiian Luau.
We’ve created this Oahu luau guide to help you choose the right luau to plan into your Oahu vacation itinerary. We’re including all the important details to consider — location, reviews, schedules and where applicable, discounts.
We’ll list the luaus geographically — going around Oahu in a clockwise manner. While we’re talking about geography, its important to note that the bigger luaus are outside of Waikiki. Don’t panic though if you are staying in Waikiki, as several luau companies offer transportation options to make the process stress free.

Final thoughts and tidbits:
- Some of the Oahu luaus at the hotels are more “pop up” in nature, while others have permanent stages and structures. The bigger luaus tend to have more permanent settings. The biggest production luaus are Polynesian Cultural Center, Germaine’s Luau and Paradise Cove.
- We have not listed pricing for each luau option because pricing can and does change without notice. Additionally, some luaus have numerous options based on amenities and seating location. From each link you should be able to navigate to a pricing page or to contact information for more details.
- Almost all luau options have different pricing packages. If your budget allows, we recommend the highest end options as they’re generally not too terribly more expensive. The seating nearest the stage offers the best view of the Polynesian dancers. Beyond the upgraded seating, the higher-end experiences usually come with better perks.
- Schedules are subject to change.
- This page was updated December 2023.

Is the Oahu go cards worth buying for what it offers? have you ever bought one? I’m staying for seven days and it offers plenty of activities to do but I know if I look in group on or living social they have deals for some of the same places as well. so just wondering if it’s worth spending 250+ dollars or not

Hi Sheila! I have been following your blog for years! I wanted to let you know that the luau at Sea Life Park will be Aloha Kai Luau as of January 1, 2023. The Aloha Kai show is still from Malu Productions and the dinner menu will be enhanced. Ka Moana Luau is moving to the Aloha Tower with a different show. We would love if you could update some of your blogs with the Aloha Kai Luau name for the Sea Life Park address. The websites are AlohaKaiLuau.com and SeaLifeParkHawaii.com. Please DM us on instagram @alohakailuau with any questions! Mahalo!
Mahalo, Elizabeth for the heads up!
