We’d like to test out a new series — Take me there Tuesday — to highlight one of Hawaii’s many scenic spots. We’ll share a photo or two (or more) of the location plus provide a link to get more details. We’re not currently planning to run this series every Tuesday. We’re thinking of posting this series maybe one or two times per month. Frequency depends on your input, so let us know what you think.
Now, where do we start? So many amazing places come to mind. Since Oahu is Hawaii’s most popular island, let’s begin there. How about a hike to Manoa Falls? Let’s go!
You don’t have to venture far from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu to escape to a peaceful trail. The contrast from city streets to this rainforest walk is wonderfully striking.
Manoa Falls Trail is a relatively easy hike at only 0.8 miles one-way. The reward for your effort is that you get to stand near the base of a 100-foot waterfall dancing down the side of a lava rock wall.
In addition to the jungle-like scenery, the sounds of birds and of the waterfall, as you approach it, make this nature walk particularly enjoyable.
Manoa Falls is one of several Oahu attractions that we recommend you include in your Oahu vacation itinerary. For more trail information, see our Manoa Falls post as well as the trail information from the state of Hawaii.

An amazing experience. The jungle, the sounds, and the beautiful falls at the end of a great hike. Wear hiking boots or hiking sandals. Can be slippery. A walking stick is a good idea too. Can’t wait to do it again!
