James took this photo from the Kohala Coast of Hawaii (Big) Island. It’s a lovely shot with the blue ocean and skies, lava rock coastline and the kiawe trees.
One thing that makes this photo especially interesting is that the mountain you see in the background is Haleakala on Maui. As the crow flies, Haleakala is roughly about 50 miles away from this spot. With Kilauea Volcano on a bit of a snooze since 2018, the air is so much more crisp and clean without vog.
