The upcoming holiday season is off to a nice start. Thankfully, there are many more things happening this year. As compared to the holidays in 2020, this year many more Oahu restaurants, bars and entertainment venues are open and with much more capacity, too.
Our Waikiki Christmas guide is fully up to date. We anticipate some additions, but for the most part it’s ready! It it, you’ll find fun ways to see Santa in Waikiki, catch Christmas entertainment and see holiday lights. We also have a list of restaurants to have a special Christmas Eve dinner, Christmas brunch and Christmas dinner.
Our Waikiki/Honolulu New Year’s Eve guide is also up to date! Perhaps the best news of all is that a dazzling, midnight fireworks show is planned for Waikiki Beach! There were no fireworks for New Year’s Eve 2021/2022, so having them back is a very, welcomed change. The New Year’s Eve guide also includes New Year’s Eve parties and special dining options. We anticipate we’ll be adding several more options to these lists, so do check back.
We’ve noticed that for both holidays, restaurants have booked up more quickly than normal. So, if you haven’t yet secured a dinner reservation, we recommend you do so as soon as possible.

In recent year’s we’ve released these holiday guides sooner. This year has taken quite a bit more time. The main reason is that venues have been a bit slower to announce what they’re offering. It’s been a difficult year for resorts and restaurants as they try to comply with changing COVID restrictions. Additionally, they’ve all struggled to hire enough staff.

If it’s not too soon, we’d like to wish you a Mele Kalikimaka and a Hau’oli Makahiki Hou!
