* The Kilauea eruption that dramatically began on December 23, 2024 has continued off and on with eleven different episodes. Sometimes the eruption episodes last for days while others only last about 12 hours. When the volcano is erupting, it’s a pretty dramatic scene with lava fountaining hundreds of feet high.
