Aloha and welcome to our guide to a fun 4th of July on the island of Maui! It’s early 2026 and we’re beginning to convert this page from last year’s events to 2026 events. For any event that’s confirmed for 2026, we’ll indicate it with a bold, red 2026. Though it’s early in the year, we have already noted some excellent options for 2026.
In previous years, either Lahaina or Wailea have hosted public fireworks shows. Neither area has announced if they’re hosting an event for 2026. We are certainly keeping on the look out for 2026 and will make updates to this page as soon as we know.

Lahaina/Kaanapali (West Maui) Fourth of July Fireworks for 2026 – To Be Determined
Sadly, several traditions have been interrupted by restrictions in 2020 and then, the tragic Lahaina fire in August 2023. Lahaina is still trying to recover, rebuild and heal. For decades, Lahaina Town hosted the island’s big fireworks show for Independence Day. In 2024, town organizers decided it was too soon after the fires to host fireworks in West Maui. There was not a public fireworks show in the Lahaina area in 2025. Will Lahaina host a fireworks show in 2026? It’s too early to tell, but we will update this page when we know one way or the other.
Unique Suggestions to See Independence Day Fireworks Shows 2026
Whether there’s a public fireworks show or not, unless there’s a total ban on fireworks due to dry conditions, you’ll very likely see fireworks from the neighborhoods. A great way to see those firecrackers along with the potential for the professional, public fireworks show is with one of the special boat tours. Seeing the fireworks from the ocean is really a beautiful sight.
These fireworks boat tours sell out every year. If you are considering one, you should book quickly. Here’s a list of the July 4th fireworks boat tours for 2026:

– Pride of Maui offers their annual “Fireworks over the Pacific” Fourth of July cruise with appetizers, entrees and dessert along with premium bar service. The evening will also include a “mini-luau” with Polynesian dancers, Hawaiian stories, and music. Pricing is $298 per adult and $258 per child. – Maui Reef Adventures offers a cruise limited to 30 passengers aboard their rigid hull inflatable rafts. This cruise includes snacks and non-alcoholic refreshments. – Quicksilver Maui offers a 4th of July Fireworks Cruise with Cocktails leaving from Ma’alaea Harbor. TBD for 2026.

Other Maui Events Taking Place On or Near Independence Day

4th of July Music at Whalers Village in Kaanapali – TBD for 2026
From 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., enjoy a live concert by the Maui Community Band and Na Alii Big Band from the Ohana Courtyard at Whalers Village. This special 4th of July performance will include patriotic favorite songs, jazz classics , and island-inspired rhythms. This event is free and open to the public. Celebrate the 4th of July at The Shops at Wailea – TBD for 2026
The Shops at Wailea are hosting a free concert with the island vibes of Maui’s own band Nuff Sedd. This concert runs from 5.30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the shopping center’s Center Stage. This event is free and open to the public. See this link for more information.
Makawao Stampede Rodeo – TBD for 2026
The small upcountry town of Makawao hosts their annual week-long rodeo and community events starting June 28th. The festivities kick off with the 57th annual Makawao Parade on June 28th. Several special events are planned from June 28 through July 3. Then on Sunday, July 6th the special Stampede 2025 championship performance and Patriotic Day is planned.
