Waikiki restaurants for Christmas dining – 2025

The Christmas season is such a special time to visit and dine in Waikiki. Most restaurants are open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Many of them offer special menus to celebrate the holiday.

To help you find where to dine for your Christmas holiday, this page lists the restaurants that are typically open for Christmas Eve and or Christmas Day in and around Waikiki Beach. As the Christmas season approaches, we’ll aim to update this page and link to special menus.

As you check out the websites for these restaurants, if you find one that looks particularly interesting to you, we recommend that you book a reservation with that restaurant as quickly as possible. Many restaurants start to book up by early to mid-December.

Waikiki Special Christmas Breakfasts and/or Brunches

One way to start out the day is with a delicious brunch. We always like the Hawaii-style brunch creations. The following restaurants are open for brunch for Christmas Eve and/or Christmas Day.

Waikiki Restaurants for dinner on Christmas Eve and/or Christmas Day

The following Waikiki restaurants are typically open for Christmas Eve and or Christmas Day 2025. We will note if a restaurant has an ocean view as it’s always extra nice to have a lovely view with your dinner.

  • Basalt Waikiki at the Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach Hotel will serve Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Prix-Fixe Dinner on both days. See this link for details.
  • House Without A Key at the Halekulani Hotel has a special a la carte menu for Christmas Day 2025. This restaurant has lovely ocean views. It’s one of our favorite restaurants.
  • Orchids at the Halekulani Hotel is one of our favorite upscale restaurants in Waikiki. It has lovely ocean views. For 2025, they have a special Christmas dinner buffet menu.
  • Sheraton Waikiki is hosting a special Christmas dinner buffet in their Leahi Lounge with excellent views of Waikiki Beach. See this link for the menu and to make a booking.
  • The Buffet at Hyatt at Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach has special dinner buffet menu for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for 2025. This restaurant has ocean views.
  • 100 Sails Restaurant at Prince Waikiki has special dinner buffet for Christmas 2025. This restaurant has harbor/ocean views.
  • Eating House 1849 By Roy Yamaguchi at the International Market Place is open for 2025
  • Chart House has a special holiday menu. This restaurant has harbor views.
  • Hideout at the Laylow, Autograph Collection has Christmas a la carte menu specials along with their standard menu for 2025. This restaurant has rooftop tropical outdoor setting.
  • Lulu’s Waikiki has excellent beach/ocean views and is open for 2025.
  • Mahina & Sons at the Surfjack Hotel is open for 2025.
  • Umi by Vikram Garg at the Halepuna Waikiki is open for 2025.
  • Monkeypod Kitchen at OUTRIGGER Reef Waikiki Beach Resort is open for 2025. This casual restaurant has great oceanfront beach views.
  • Hula Grill Waikiki at OUTRIGGER Waikiki Beach Resort usually has a special meal or at least a special entree for holidays. This restaurant is at a great location with oceanfront views. It is one of our favorite restaurants in Waikiki. Hula Grill Waikiki is a good value for Waikiki and will likely fully book before Christmas.
  • Duke’s Waikiki at Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort usually either has a special menu or buffet for holidays. This restaurant has a great location and oceanfront setting. Menu prices are also a good value for Waikiki. It will be fully booked before Christmas.
  • Tropics Bar & Grill at the Hilton Hawaiian Village is open for Christmas. This casual restaurant is beachfront. See this link to navigate to their specials for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day a la carte dinner menu for 2025.
  • Deck at Queen Kapiolani Waikiki Beach is serving some Christmas special items along with their standard menu. See the 2025 holiday menu here. This restaurant has neat views of Diamond Head.
  • Tiki’s Grill & Bar at the Twin Fin Hotel is open for Christmas 2025. See this link for their Christmas entree special. This restaurant has ocean views.
  • Quiora at the Ritz-Carlton Waikiki Residences has a special Christmas dinner served family-style. This restaurant has some ocean views.
  • Stripsteak Waikiki at the International Market Place is open and has a special menu for for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day 2025.
  • Ruth Chris at Waikiki Beach Walk is open for 2025.
  • Wolfgang’s Steakhouse is open for dinner has an urban tropical setting at  the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center.

Luau options for Christmas 

Enjoying the food and pageantry of a luau can be a fun way to celebrate Christmas.

The following luau companies are located outside of Waikiki, but offer optional transportation to and from the luau.

The transportation options are both scenic and convenient. These luau options are charging a fairly reasonable rates even though it’s a holiday.

  • Aloha Kai Luau hosts a luau on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. This oceanside luau is located about 45-minutes drive from Waikiki at Sea Life Park. The luau ticket includes entrance to Sea Life Park which you can opt to explore and enjoy the day of the luau for convenience and good value. They do have an option to add transportation from Waikiki for an additional fee. This luau has great TripAdvisor reviews at rating of 4.4 out of 5. Here are the packages they offer with various amenities (type of lei, service, number of included drinks, etc.):
  • Ka Moana Luau operates on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. This oceanside luau is located about a 15-minute drive from Waikiki at Honolulu’s Aloha Tower Marketplace. They offer transportation from Waikiki for an additional fee. This luau gets great reviews on TripAdvisor at a rating of 4.3 out of 5.   • Paina Waikiki Luau at the Waikiki Beach Marriott operates their luau on Christmas Eve. This luau has a TripAdvisor rating of 4.5 out of 5.0. Seating options are as follows:
  • The Royal Hawaiian Hotel puts on a lovely Holiday Luau on the 22nd, 25th and 29th. Their oceanfront setting in the heart of Waikiki is truly special. We noted that the 25th is already fully booked, but the 22nd and 29th have availability at last check. This luau has 4.0 out of 5.0 rating on TripAdvisor. Here are their seating options:
  • Waikiki Starlight Luau at the Hilton Hawaiian Village offers a special holiday luaus on their beachfront Great Lawn.
      • On the 24th, they’re hosting a special Santa’s Christmas Eve Luau on the 24th. Santa is planning to make an appearance. You can learn more and book at this link.
      • On the 25th, Christmas Day, they’re hosting Christmas Day Luau. Learn more and book at this link.

Notes:

  • Bear in mind that Christmas is a very busy time in Waikiki. Though a restaurant may have ocean views, not every table will have a direct ocean view. For the best possible view, try to make your reservation for as close to the time that the restaurant opens. Waikiki sunset around the week of Christmas is between 5:55pm and 6:00pm.
